Of course you don't know. I don't know if Hustla is a cop, though many assume he is. One person actually accused me of being a liar by saying I don't know if he is a cop for sure, after I used your exact same argument. Very nasty about it too as I recall.

Personally, I like to speak my mind. If some people get their back up about it, that's just life. It would be a very boring world if everyone agreed about everything.

Again, it helps to have as much context as possible. It helps quite a bit in determining how much you can trust a person's "opinion," esp if you're moving to NYC. More than one newcomer has been scared to death after seeing some of Hustla's posts. They've said so, so I'm not exaggerating here.

Why would I say I live in the Bronx if I don't and get so much abuse heaped on me? I lived in Manhattan for a good part of my life, so I could just pretend to do that, but IMO it would be very silly to do so.

Sorry, rather he accused me of calling Hustla a liar, which I didn't do.

So many forumers make grand pronouncements about areas of the city they've never lived in or haven't set foot in for years.

I'm with you there Elvira. I keep looking here to learn about the city I left, but still visit, years ago. I am in no position to tell anyone anything except about Long Island City where my son lives which is going to soon be yuppified and lose its Little Italy flavor it has had for years.

Want to add that you, Elvira, always make sense to me and you don't get personal and don't seem to mind too much the digs thrown at you at times. You stick to the topic and defend your viewpoint without attack which is to be admired.

Many thanks, Lilietta. But I must confess that I have sometimes gotten carried away esp with Hustla and temporarily lost my posting privileges for a day or two!

OK, so it's actually Inwood. Kind of. Almost.

But I tell my high school students it's Washington Heights, and that gives me (middle-aged, lily white, suburban-born-and-bred woman) "street cred" ..... (LOL)

Actually, Da Heights could be University Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Jackson Heights, Wuthering Heights...

Hey, I live in Da Heights too!
