Certain areas are common like East New York, sorry if im bashing ENY but it was worst in the 1980s ( crack era ) if i had to compare hearing gunshots at night between the 80s and now. 1980s it was more common, and gangs hold weapons gang style because they don't care for accuracy but they want to release as much firepower in a short amount of time. 2 they think it's cool.
