By the way, is anybody near Bedstuy? Is there ANYTHING open? I was pretty ill all weekend and this is the first day I can move around, and I need to get some basic groceries/medicine.

Holy crap. Weather.com newscast said when it hits landfall at around 7 pm, it will be 80 to 90 mph with 100 mph gusts!

I lived through 79 mph Hurricane Fran, which spawned tornadoes that sounded like the famous "freight train" noise (terrifying), and the winds knocked down thousands of trees that fell on power lines, cars, homes, and killed people in trailer homes. We did not have flooding.

You will have substantially more powerful winds AND flooding! This is serious!

People in Zone A are CRAZY if they do not evacuate!

TAKE CARE!!!

Yes but I have not been outside today. Try calling a few local chains and see if they are open. I was at the Family Dollar on Franklin last night because the supermarket was too busy. I picked up some pasta, two cans of chili, and candles I can see people walking around outside now, so they must be going somewhere.
