No freaking way! Is this really gonna mess things up?
This is a totally different thing than fdny. In fdny they were charging that the TEST was biased. This is different, these promotions are not test based. It's a who - you- know kind of promotion. This should not affect hiring s/w in any way.
DAMN!!!! This better not screw things up for new hirings this summer!!!!!!!!!! Been counting on this for wayyyyyy too long to start over!!!! Less than 150 list #s away from being called!!!! Was counting on that 1 bloggers comment about the possibility of new hires this summer!! Did everything but fingerprinting last July....including the week at FBF with Moe & the boys to get my CDL. Be real friggin bad to get this close and have list expire out from under my feet cause of this lawsuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope so!!!! If any vets here any rumblings from pretty reliable sources...let us guys in the waiting wings know! Any bit of good news gives us hope this happens!!!! I call HR every 2 weeks but obviously they cant pass anything on that hasnt been formally announced yet.
Im pretty sure they will call 200 ... 2 more classes...I believe it has something to do with our contract. 200 per year . Then they will expire the list
Hope the hell you're rt!!! Thanks to all for responses...I do understand that the lawsuit has nothing to do with initial hirings and has everything to do with upper promotions. But Ive heard its happened before with other city agencies, and in turn stalled not only promotions but also any movement in dept...including hirings. Almost as if the dept freezes...hope thats not the case....waited too long and got way too far for that crap to happen now!!!!!!!!!
