It will take 4 days to restore electricity in Manhattan & Brooklyn. The other boroughs will take longer.

No.dear, Connecticut people are much much ruder! I am now being flamed (insulted) to pieces on a thread I started on a Connecticut thread b/c we were
going to get 50-70 mph winds & none of our neighbors are friendly nor would help
us if a huge tree fell on our place (& we got dozens of huge trees near us too)
& we were quite concerned for our family's safety & now dozens
of cyberbullies are coming on our thread & calling us a troll simply for I.was
concerned we might die from this horrific storm.

That was good advice Texas poster. We made sure to have a little cash
before the storm hit.
You never know what Mother Nature is going to.do!
She can cause disasters!

I saw a photo posted on someone's Facebook page of a La Guardia airport sleeve terminal the ends just above water (rather than dry tarmac). So a seaplane would work probably....

South St. Ferry subway station has water flooding up to its ceiling.

What sucks is my daughter & her fiance' are in a hotel w/no power, no water &paying big $$ until they can get home to Raleigh & their jobs. They were supposed to have flown home at 8AM Mon morning but flights were canceled. They have been rescheduled twice now and finally are supposed to leave Nov1 at 7:50PM. I have no clue if that will also be canceled. I wonder why the hotels don't give stranded people a break on the fees especially with no running water or power to be had and certainly no maid service. I get they need to make money but they are saving $ on not having to pay for maid service, power or water.

I think your daughter and fiance should speak to the hotel manager about getting a discount.
