Exactly....

All of these arrogant fools will be the same ones telling the stories of how badly they suffered through the storm next week.

All photos from today. Just be glad you are safe and unharmed in your home, with power and internet... and also think about shutting up and not posting stupid sh*t on the internet, since many of your neighbors are not as lucky as you.

Give me a break. I've been through 2 hurricanes in the Caribbean. Sandy hardly qualifies as a tropical storm by comparison.

just got a message from con-edision that they might have to pre-emptively cut power in parts of manhattan because of flooding elsewhere in the city.

i experienced no power loss during Irene, so in my book if they do cut out power this time, Sandy > Irene.

There's a crane dangling on 57th street and 6th avenue, reports say residents living in the area between 5th and 8th ave are going to be evacuated. Not the ideal situation to evacuate people as the heart of the storm is about to arrive, but now they have the fear of weather this crane will snap off or not..

So ignorant. How anyone can not take weather threats seriously, especially after Katrina, is beyond me. You don't have to live in fear, but seriously, don't be so arrogant.

Stay safe, NYC!

I agree we should stay safe. What I don't like is the hype. I've actually seen two real hurricanes in the Caribbean and I tell you, it's a fearful weather event. Sandy with all the hype came nothing close to what I've seen. I'm not downplaying it, I'm just putting things into perspective.

It's odd you're using the past tense.

Our area is not prepared for hurricanes the way they are in the Caribbean. We have no precautions in place. We have huge giant trees. It's a totally different situation.
