Been watching this on the news...heartbreaking to see. Can anyone advise me if Thetford Lane, closer to Bedford la, has been affected by the fires? My inlaws live there, trying to find out if the fires have reached their home. Thankfully, they evacuated. TIA!!

I'm sorry, don't have info on that right now but the situation is serious, it's a six-alarm fire now. 198 firefighters on the scene and 50 homes on fire.

Thanks whitlock for responding. That info I know, I've been monitoring FDNY radio transmissions & have my feelers out with ex-co-workers (911/NYPD). I know the general area that has already burned, very close to my family. Trying to find out if their street was damaged by fire. I know they'll sustain so sort of water/wind damage. My MIL is 83 yrs old & thankfully in a safe place. Just trying to get a heads up on any more info that I can find out. Being 700 miles away in NC makes it tough & I appreciate any info that I can get. If you are in Sandy's path, hope all is OK with you & yours.

yes, they are. Just heard there might be another fire starting up there. It was on FDNY radio. I'm trying to find out what the damage was to Thetford Lane, near Bedford Lane.
