I'm not from Boston (or Massachusetts) but know what Patriots Day is (and that it has nothing to do with a NFL team.) Don't short sell all Americans as morons who don't know anything beyond their backyard.
Agreed. Plenty of people I know who have never even been to Boston are quite familiar with Patriot's Day and it's meaning.

No need to get all huffy. I know what it is and what it stands for and it is not football. What I was referring to is it is not "celebrated" equally in all areas of America and many people who are not from an area where it is celebrated more, or who are foreign nationals (and most importantly, are just not as brilliant and worldly as us on CD) do not think of it as a significant day and may not know where in America it is more of a significant day, such as in Boston.
Tax day is a heck of a lot more significant to all Americans if we're going to go by the theory that the bombers picked an "important day to America" for this horrific event.

What you wrote and what you were referring to were totally different animals.
There are other theories as well, including a statement against the new gun control laws in CT and a disgruntled citizen who doesn't like the marathon activity in his neighborhood.

Yes, the theories abound.
We will just have to wait and see which particular psycho this is and why they did it.
