I'm flying into NY tomorrow, landing at Laguardia. Can someone tell me if there are cabs available at the airport or is there a big wait?

Are there plenty of cabs in Manhattan?

Thanks!!!

You've definitely never been to NY! (Or perhaps a city for that matter!)

But in all seriousness....

Yes there is a cab line at the airport... Follow the signs for ground transportation...

Yes there are "plenty of cabs" in Manhattan.

And by the way, you are technically flying into Queens. The airports in New York City are in the borough of Queens. There is not space for an airport in Manhattan.

Edit: I see you changed your OP to say Laguardia instead of Manhattan....

I grew up in Brooklyn and go to NY 3 or 4 times a year. I was referring to the gas problems from the storms. Sorry that I wasn't clear!

SO, is there a gas shortage now that will affect whether I can find a cab at the airport tomorrow, and in manhattan over the weekend?

The cabs have a "special" way of getting gas...not to worry, especially not in Manhattan.

The weather is supposed to be delightful BTW.

Look into possibly using a car service instead, cab line will probably be reasonably long but it usually moves pretty quickly.

There are plenty of cabs, but lines at airports and train/bus station can get pretty long.

That is very true, there was a gas station on Northern Blvd/72nd St in Jackson Heights, Queens
that was only letting taxis fill up even though there was no sign posted anywhere.

Every time I've flown in I've used a car service. I'd much rather pay 55(with tip) and ride in a roomy BMW 5 series then a stanky taxi for roughly 45 with tip (pretty sure that's about how much it costs for a cab)

There's one on 96th and First that operates pretty much the same way...like 24/7/365.
