Driving through mid town during Christmas season, I won't do it unless someone pay me handsomely. Grid lock EVERYWHERE, one wrong move can easily be an extra 45 mins stuck in traffic.

If everyone is paying on their own, refer them to a site like nyc.bestparking.com, Edison or Icon for coupons, listing a few garages in close proximity. I would have them arrange their own parking based upon how far they want to walk and what they want to pay. Prime season deals in Midtown are not the easiest to find.
