Riverdale also has some dense urban areas besides the leafy suburban parts. Broadway around 242nd St., Waldo Ave., 238th St., etc. Lots of typical Bronx 6 story apartment buildings.

Beautiful pictures.

These big opulent homes remind me of the houses I've seen around Jamaica estates and the private streets of Forest hills.

I enjoyed those pictures. It is always fun to explore a new neighborhood, and those are gorgeous homes.

One day I would love to ride my bike around and take pictures as well.

I have been to "Wave Hill", that is close by?, am I correct?
That is an absolutely beautiful park.

Yes, Wave Hill is close by, close to the train station in the estate area/West of the Parkway.

Riverdale is actually a diverse neighborhood with middle class to affluent residents, not exclusively wealthy. Side streets in the estate area are hilly, have broken pavement (by design as it keeps the speed down), and can be very narrow and curvy. Fieldston also has private security patrols, with the streets being owned by those within the association. One of the principal architects who is responsible for the varied houses of Fieldston was Dwight James Baum, whose creations carry a premium within the neighborhood because of the attention to detail and architectural distinction of the houses he designed. Julius Gregory was also active in the neighborhood, as were a handful of other architects who were approved by the Fieldston Association. Fieldston also had an early mindset to blocking development, securing exclusive single-family zoning in the 1930s to block the construction of apartment buildings within Fieldston.

2x and important to bring up. Riverdale is dense and should not be thought of as "SUBurban".

5204 Delafield Avenue is worth $1.4M. (zillow). Not for sale, though!

I always loved the northwest Bronx, this area all the way over the the reservoir/Mosholu Parkway area. One of the most underrated parts of the city.
