"Real" is such an arbitrary term. What does one mean by "real"? I just don't get it when it comes to NYC. As one person put it, NYC is a facade in most cases. Manhattan is sceen as a sparkling island of happiness and pleasure, but there are plenty of people living here that are miserable beyond belief. That same can be said about the Boroughs.

To me "Real" means Everyday "Working Class" People, people who can tell it like it is, will let their voices be heard....NOT Pretentious or Superfical in the slightest...I must say certain parts of Manhattan has that, the other part is East Coast Hollywood....

LA - However is the most Superfical, and Pretentious place in North America. Im sorry its a fact.

New York is the realest city in the U.S. It isn't miles and miles of fake, lifeless suburbia. It has a thriving and living density of people making culture everyday.

Real? You gotta be kidding! Maybe "intense" or "hyper" or "varied" ... you've got the most people on the widest number of different trips per square inch in America, possibly in the world. That's something, for sure. Kinda crazy. Real, not so much!
