Everyone has a choice. The only thing that is not a choice is death.
Because you could do it, you should try to be sympathetic toward those who cannot - and help.
I have met too many people with very few choices.

People have different abilities, personalities, etc.
Some need more help than others.

If you're so smart, why do you put apostrophes into plurals?

The point is that saying 'blacks and Latinos' as a collective is a rather all inclusive statement. Which is contradictory to your follow up statement of some blacks and latinos who are not, which I suppose you would fall into. This is beaten to death, but there are many blacks and Latinos who do not subscribe to the ghetto culture. Merely listening to rap music and dressing urban doesn't mean that you support ghetto culture. Rap and urban attire spun off of poverty but it is a completely different animal that now crosses racial lines.

I'd like to think that there are other fields besides retail and working class jobs for people who lack college degrees.

Rap music and urban attire = negative connotations that should be avoided by all cost.

A bigger issue is black and hispanic teens having kids, when that happens the poverty cycle continues.

there was a discussion on condom use to prevent this. there should be more widespread educational events offered to the black and latino communities to eliminate this mishap.

What help should he give, and why should he do it? And how effective is it going to be? He doesn't seem to be inclined to help, so if he isn't sympathetic towards people, perhaps he has his reasons from his own experience in his life.
