Just out of curiosity..

What would the take home pay for 75K be-bimonthly?
I work in the city and live in queens. Single. No dependents. I did a calculation, but I do not think I did it correctly.

I was thinking about moving back to NJ. Would you pay more? Im sure that would affect the check as well.

Thank you.

I lived in NJ for a few years. That place is so corrupt. I mean NYC is no saint, but NJ is 5 times worse. And thats not easy to do!

I always say "Freedom begins where New Jersey ENDS."

To answer your question. Take home pay would be about 2,300 bimonthly by my calculations. But then again, i didnt use a calculator

I'm coming up with about 2016 NY and 2030 NJ.

This assumes no 401k, no insurance deductions (health or life), etc.

I make the same salary and live in Jersey. Take home pay per two weeks (after taxes/insurance) is about $1800 if you live in Jersey. If you plan to live in NYC then you will have to pay city taxes. I looked the tax bracket & turns out you would be shelling out an additional $200 per month on city taxes. If you want to avoid city taxes you should consider living in Jersey City, Hoboken, or North Jersey area (bergen county).

Final take home salary if living in Jersey
75K annual salary

Per two weeks: $1800.
Per month: $3600

Hope this helps.

So you're saying that $1,000 comes out of every pay check for taxes and ins?

If you work in NYC, & live in NJ, wouldn't you have to file returns & pay taxes in both states? Your NY employer is going to withhold all federal, NYS & NYC taxes from your pay, and you will have to file a return in NJ, talking deductions for all taxes paid in NY.
P.S. Do you have a payroll dept. at your job? Ask someone there.
