Gentrification is about 85% complete. Brownsville now has eco-friendly bullets. The shells dissolve into the ground and make an apple tree. There are 25 Starbucks , 12 Whole Foods, and 1 KFC in Brownville.

For shame on you folks, this person is clearly looking for reliable information. The truth is that the reports on Brownsville's Gentrification has been blown way out of portion, however the gentrification in East New York is booming, and has reached the level where the moment you cross it's borders you instantly grow a Hipster beard (even if your female) and your khakis turn into skinny jeans and you have a Triple Mocha latte instantly in hand.

To prove how further along ENY is (if you want to sound like a local, you will call the area Ennie, trust me) they have none of these big brand stores you see in Brownsville, it's only trendy organic crack houses and 100% kentucky blue grass fed hookers.

As someone who grew up in Starrett, I think I would personally slap someone if I ever heard them call ENY "Ennie".
