You live in NYC and see the same things other NY's see.
What represents the city to one person , might not mean squat to you.
Trash lined up on the sidewalk on garbage day, to me, is just about as New York as you can get.


There's an idea for you.
Or how about any random image of those thugs in blue beating up a girl??

Okay. Something that says "New York" without being too obvious. How about a tat of a block of typical NY 5-story walkups like on the lower East Side. With all the fire escapes running up and down the front of the building. No other city in the U.S. has buildings like these. Could make a cool tat.

I never really understood why normal everyday people get tattoos. I mean gang members and Russian Mafia much respect for because it actually symbolizes something. They take great pride in them and more importantly, are able to explain what each tattoo means.

Tattoos like these are......shallow to say the least.

I think you might get more ideas if you looked at photos of the city, and maybe some old photos from each borough of the city.
