Hi,

I am looking to purchase a house in QUeens. I saw this house in fresh meadow that is attached so I guess that would be considered a townhouse. My question is, since all the houses share a driveway in the middle of the block, who pays if there's a problem with the driveway? Is there a fee?

You all pay and if you don't a lien is filed on your home.we went throught it.

we had a community driveway in need of repair. this was a real issue because one side where i was actually used the community driveway. the opposite side had garages in the front and did not even use the driveway.

but since it was common to both the city made everyone pay or face a lien.

It was more than 15 years ago so i don't remember. I do remember back then it was 23k to pave in total. someone must have complained and the city came and gave it a violation.

Fee is important too but need to take into account how many units are splitting the 'bill'. For example, 23k split between two unit is big hit whereas 23k between say 10 unit isn't so bad.
