I lived in Flushing from 1988-2002 and I've noticed along the years many of them have been closing down. Is there any exact reason to this? I can't even find a Baskin Robins in the neighborhood since my relatives live in Jamaica and there used to be alot but not so much anymore. Of course Flushing is becoming very Oriental-influenced and there's rarely any American-based businesses anymore but still...

peoples taste turned to frozen yougurt instead. they are cropping up every where. we have 3 on bell blvd alone.

carvel is gone from there too.

According to the Carvel website, there are still locations on Union Turnpike in Flushing, Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills, Jamaica Avenue as well Liberty Avenue in Jamaica, Broadway in Elmhurst, Atlantic Avenue in Ozone Park, Junction Blvd. in Jackson Heights, etc. There is a list of 20 locations in Queens.

Last I remember was the one in Chinatown on Mott and Bayard...now there are Haagen Daasz signs outside so I guess it's no more.

I agree, Frozen yogurt is the in thing.

Carvel's milkshakes is/was the best. About a billion calories but so good.
