New York, NY (PRWEB) October 18, 2007 -- "New York, New York" is the most popular song about New York City, preferred by 43% of city residents, a Manhattan School of Music/Quinnipiac University poll found. The jingle "I love New York" came in second with 12% of the votes, and Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" was the favorite of 6% of responders. Ten percent of respondents named other songs and 29% were undecided.

that's pretty much it, especially after an exciting win at yankee stadium and i mean in extra innings or bottom of the ninth and not a blowout.

I'm surprised the songs "New York" (the Ja Rule/Cool & Dre version) and "Uptown" (Peter Gunz and Lord Tariq) aren't on the list.

Curious, if my memory serves me correctly, New York New York by Frank Sinatra was released as a radio hit sometime in late 1979 or early 1980

Am I accurate?

FWIW: There are two different songs with the same title, "New York, New York."

The most well-known one is the Frank Sinatra and/or Liza Minelli version, but the original song was featured in the 1949 movie, "On the Town." The lyrics go like this:

New York, New York!
A helluva town.
The Bronx is up and the Battery's down.
And people ride in a hole in the ground.
New York, New York!
It's a helluva town!
