Hi All!

We are moving into Manhattan. Does anyone know if you must obtain a parking permit to park a small moving van/truck on the side of the street during your moving into a new apartment?

Just follow the posted signs. The only issue you may hit is if you park it overnight it may be tickete3d as a commercial vehicle. If you end up double parking and get ticketed, leave the ticket on the windshield so you won't be ticketed a second time.
