I heard that the crazy north korea regime is aiming its missiles at USA. Hope that NY is far enough to be saved from the threat. Fingers crossed for west coasters.

I don't understand why they even want to target USA. If they want to make a meaningful noise to the rest of the world, China, Japan and Russia are all within their reach.

China is an ally and according to some so is Russia. Many have theories China manipulates NK to mess with USA.

There is no real threat to the US. The real threat is to South Korea. The North would dearly love to rule that prosperous country.

All reports indicate that North Korea will not have the technology to deliver a warhead to the U.S. for years. However, they are getting increasingly desperate and might take a swipe at South Korea in a meaningful way. My bet is that they are once again saber rattling and it will die down after they get enough attention.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Believe me, the threat from North Korea is puny compared to the threat we face from the next budget. Or the COMING bill from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The U.S makes a lot of noise about trivia while remaining the largest threat to world peace on planet Earth for the last half century.

North Korea, if they attack South Korea, the US would retaliate. Plus South Korea also has a commercial relationship with China.

China kept North Korea's regime alive because they didn't want US bases close to their border, but the value of North Korea has dropped to them.

You wouldn't be saying that if this was 50 years ago. Soviet Union had numerous attempts to wipeout NYC with an ICBM which will ultimately knock out America if NYC is ever nuked. Imagine living through much of the cold war fearing that your world can be over in a flash of a splitting fission atoms. A few close calls saved NYC from a total nuclear winter disaster.

North Korea was created by the Soviet Russia. As for North Korea which is one of the last remnant of a Soviet styled state, America still has to be worried about this state who's people are more fanatical and zealots for its leader than all those Jihadist hijackers who rammed planes into the Twin Towers and Pentagon a decade ago. A conflict with North Korea will only drag down the United States not militarily but also financially. So far America has nearly 100K troops stationed in the Asian Far East, troops stationed along the 38th parallel and troops stationed on the Japanese Island of Okinawa, troops are stationed there because of fear of encroaching Russian, but now Chinese and North Korean militaries. Ever since the Cold War America has to protect Japan and South Korea who's states are part of Americas Informal Empire. Even though Cold War hostilities with Russia is far from over, America has to contend with China and North Korea. If anything North Korean nuke will probably be highly in accurate since they don't have no guidance from a satellite to guide a nuke to targeted destination. NK will probably be lucky if they hit Hawaii, but then again it might cause an Ecological disaster with those Volcanoes in that area. What's going to happen is that Russia and China will most likely put in place an extreme embargo on North Korea from food to weapons, and probably bar people from crossing their borders. Putin and Jintao don't want to be dragged into a war with the U.S and its NATO allies.
