this morning, i was driving off the belt and onto ocean parkway, where the same camera is that i got my ticket. i noticed a cop coming up from behind me. what he did was turned on his lights for a moment and then got on the belt. once on the ramp the enter the belt, he turned off his lights. i assume this is some way for cops to speed through these school zones and potentially murder innocent kiddies but avoid getting a ticket for it. its good to know that cops arent obligated to follow the same rules that we all have to follow and then they wonder why there is resentment towards them from the general public.

I just got nailed by one of the city's tax collect..er. traffic cops. So I'm looking into fighting the ticket. In the process I found this. It seems pretty definitive, so I figured I'd post it.

The same goes for garbage trucks and cabs.

And as long as you honk your horn loudly, it's apparently perfectly legal to blast through red lights in NYC, too!

When the officer signs the summons he is certifying that the information he put on the summons is accurate. Wait until the ticket is available to view online. If the information is the same on both copies you may have a case for dismissal.
