I was watching "wildest police videos", one showed a 24 year old mentally ill man with a gun in the early summer of 1997. They did a short bio on the man, he was wanted by the FBI for several armed bank robberies and crossing state lines, he was being chased due to menacing his girlfriend with a gun - he was a good looking young man - half Irish half Italian and it said he stood 6'1 1/2" with a muscular build, a summer tan, neatly cut slicked back medium brown hair and dark green eyes. The man was yelling the entire time on a busy midday street in the Midtown showing the twin towers in the distance on a hazy hot late June day, there had to be over 50 police officers on foot as well a police helicopter, they screamed at innocent civilians telling them to "GET THE F*** ON THE SIDEWALK", they ordered a block lockdown which included cops and fbi agents pushing around innocent people.
After 5 minutes, a short footchase ensued which included police shutting down the block to vehicles, after about 40 seconds cops yelled out expletives and all you heard was at least 30 shots, the man was laying dead on the street, you heard a black man yell out "OHHHH, THEY SHOT HIM DEAD, DAMN PIGS!". The narrator called the mentally ill young man "a malcontent and menace to society who got what was coming to him".
I'm very Liberal, and I think the police should go a bit easier on mentally ill people. Look at all of the incidents today with mentally ill people getting shot and killed by cops all over the country. This was only the begining of police shooting videos.
Would you want them to go easy on Adam Lanza if he hadn't shot himself in the noggin first? Nutjobs with guns shouldn't be dealt with gently, they should be taken out before they get a chance to take others with them.
Wanted by the FBI for bank robberies, armed with a gun, and acting irrationally in public... Hmm, if there's anyone the cops are likely to end up shooting, it sounds like this guy. Me thinks you are a little too liberal for our own good.
I work with the mentally ill and while most are not homicidal like a sociopath would, most cannot control themselves nor express their feelings, many really do believe people are out to get and kill them. This man robbed banks and likely has a drug addiction in addition he was angry with police for stepping in with him and his girlfriend, he was mentally ill, high, angry and had a deadly weapon, the cops did all they could, he was a rabid animal at the moment and they put him down. I feel for his family but they need to understand their son was a danger to society and the same goes for more modern incidents today.
This man was likely not mentally ill, but a sociopath. The cops did the community good
Many dangerous sociopaths have been very good looking, they have serious mental problems on the inside, bad mental genes. Height or looks has nothing do with it, many also appear shy, harmless and "sweet", they will be like this until somebody is weak enough to be taken advantage of, they feed off others insecurity... One thing to take note of is most psychopaths or sociopaths rarely make eye contact
