I can't believe no Peter Lugers steakhouse on the list. I also like the Frost in Williamsburg. Brennan and carr is good not great. I have to agree with the poster about L&B. Great squares but the rounds not so much.

3 luigis for a good inexpensive slice, Peter Luger's for some hearty steak, marlow and sons for good lot of everything, lucky 8 for canto food, east harbor seafood place for dim sum, yun nan flavor shack for some good spicy rice noodles, mr. hot pot for a good communal meal, roberta's for pizza, randazzo's for decent seafood and a lot of history, chef's table to blow your savings on something ridiculous and good, lulu & po for interesting tapas, fette sau for barbeque, mandiba for south african and a good vibe, christina's for inexpensive and wonderfully filling polish food, gloria's for a good oxtail, A&A's for a quick morning bite, peaches hothouse for fried chicken. Really though, there are a lot of options out there.
