A friend of mine recently asked me to join a social media marketing company, and it sounded too good to be true.

They stated that they would pay me to endorse their clients across my social networks. I signed up, and followed all the steps to become an influencer.

Has anyone out there heard of this company SpinPop Media???

Please let me know what you guys think?

Donfather ..

Seem like a bunch of dirtbags trying to create fake popularity for their clients on social networks. I don't know how legit they are, but I have my doubts about their viability. The social network operators are likely going to take steps against them.

They are likely a company that businesses hired to get them more clicks, which means a higher search engine rank and/or more advertisers on the business' sites. I'm not sure if that's illegal, it may be perfectly legal or legal in a loophole.

this is the third time in a week I heard about this service... 2 folks say it's the real deal, 1 still undecided lol

As long as I don't have to pay to join, it can't hurt getting compensated to endorse businesses on social media.. my $0.02

UPDATE: So I signed up for service. They followed up immediately. Seems pretty straight-forward and on the up & up. Basically, they send you posts to copy and paste across your social networks. They confirmed it wouldn't be anything racy or profane. I'm staying tuned. If it's the real deal, I've wasted enough time on social media for free lol. If it's not legit, nothing lost. Seems professional.

I actually signed up also. I signed on to a webpage and then spoke to one of there reps via email.

Seems pretty legit and saw a web release on the Internet about them on webwire.
I'm going to try it out also and see what happens. I think this is a pretty cool way to make extra bucks to advertise on my wall.

Thanks guys

I chatted with one of their customer service folks over e-mail. Pretty interesting concept. People like us promote their customers products and services on social media to our personal connections. They said, "we remove the middle-man in traditional marketing and go right to people through their personal relationships".

I guess my Facebook and Twitter become the the new "newspaper ad section".

Costs me nothing. They use paypal. going to give it a shot.

Sounds like guerrilla marketing. Social networks will likely not be happy with this. Also, If it sounds too good to be true, It 99.9% of the time is. I say it's crapola with the promise of "unlimited growth" or "The wave of the future." Now that your in it already, Tread real carefully.
