i have not been to an OG in NYC. I am wondering if OG in the south makes better food than those here.
Oy vey! Now that I think about it, some of my worst experiences eating "Italian" have come outside of NYC... Even getting decent pizza was a real chore.

If you feel like traveling uptown I suggest the Belmont section of the Bronx. A lot of good Italian restaurants near E 187th St and Arthur Ave. Friendly people, great food, authentic environment.

Arthur avenue has some of the best Italian food. But I'm only going going to lower manhattan.

I'll put Mario's up against most Italian restaurants in the city. Roberto's is also great. Patsy Rigo's fell off in my humble opinion

Danico's is my favorite, been going there since the late 90's (changed a lot since then, for the better). Have taken a lot of people there and they all love it.

Oddly, the best Italian restaurants aren't generally in Little Italy.
