I would do that, but I'm supposed to have heat included in my rent. I wouldn't want to spend the money on a heater, plus paying for the electricity to run it. Maybe I can call 311 and report it to them?

I mean you definitely could call 311 and report them. If you do this you might have to call the number repeatedly in order for someone from the city to come and check it out (1 call usually never does anything).
However, we are talking about family members. Can't you just convince them to turn on the heat? They are kind of breaking the law by not having it on when the teperature is below 55 during the day or below 40 during the night. |

Living with mommy & daddy is the best idea really...it allows you to save the money for a downpayment...when you rent, you don't really have any way to save money.

you're young...live @ home & save your money. I'm 26 and I've lived at home since graduating college. I would say by this time next year i should be able to buy a house.

I can't, my parents live in Florida. I make enough to live on my own, so I'm not struggling or anything.
