I don't know if people actually do this, but what are your opinions on this because the job is around Bowling Green

google maps says take NJ transit to penn station then the 1 train, I would have taken PATH to WTC, but what about driving into Staten Island and parking by the ferry (lets say if money wasn't an option), which would be the quickest?

I can't imagine fighting rush hour traffic would be any quicker or less expensive than mass transit. I think public transit is the way to go, and the Google way, with only one transfer, seems right.

I think the public transit way is absolutely ridiculous lol. Driving into Staten Island from Rahway in rush hour traffic?? Theirs virtually none going that way, you'd take route 35 or rte 9 to the Outerbridge, park at any of the train stations for free and take the train to the ferry, walk to Bowling Green. Hell, I'll make it even easier....

Drive to the island over Outerbridge, stay to the left once you get into the island towards "Korean War Vets Pkwy/Richmond Avenue" (see here for street view). Get off at the first exit after this "Maguire Av/Foster Rd/Huguenot Ave" (see here for street view) and then drive along the service road 3 traffic lights to Huguenot Avenue, park in one of the free lots after you pass the light on the left side or the right side, or park along the service road (Drumgoole) in the right lane. Walk 5 minutes down Huguenot to the train and take it to the ferry. (see here for street view)

Get the 'PASI' Staten Island Bridges plan on your EZ-Pass account and your monthly tolls will be $105, while a monthly Metrocard for the ferry-train transfer at St George will cost $112 making your commuting travel expenses around ~$220 minus gas, which really isn't very much at all since you're driving very few miles between the train and Rahway.

Do NOT take the ridiculous Penn Station/PATH/1 train crap, trust me. I've done it before from Jersey, it's hell.

I think most Rahwayans either take an express bus thought the Hollland Tunnel. Another good possibility might be NJTransit to NYC (Penn Central) or NJT to Newark and take PATH to the WTC.

Rayway to Newark: 21 minutes
PATH to WTC: 22 minutes

Figure an hour with short waits between trains. Double that if it's 3AM.
