It's now at the bottom of the tallest, steepest canyon in the city. Yes, there are taller buildings, but in such immediate proximity to one another? I don't think so. The very thing that makes this location attractive (landmark music hall) now stops the sun from shining there

I also think the design of One57 is very disappointing for such a high-profile structure.

^^^ The view up from 56th St. I'd love to see the same view on 57th but Street View hasn't been updated since One57 was built.

The tower is north of Carnegie Hall, since when does the sun shine directly from the north in NYC?
Considering it is in Midtown, Carnegie Hall has been in shadow for some time. Luckily this has little affect to the quality of performances.

I agree that the tower is a bit of a disappointment, but hopefully guests of the Park Hyatt hotel and the billionaire residents in the tower will patronize their little brick neighbor across the way.

But they still have the best acoustics in the City and no TRUMP or RELATED can take that away from them.

You're so right, one of the four super-tall towers surrounding Carnegie Hall is to its north

Meanwhile, daylight matters as much or more than direct sunlight, and One57 blocks out more sky than it does sunlight in this location. Also, there's something scary about it, even though the crane was fixed.

I sure hope not. But I'm also sure they would if they could make some money off doing so.
