Just came from Ridge Hill in Yonkers. Looks like a good place to spend a broiling hot day. Many large air conditioned shops, movie theater and restaurants (ate in Havana Central which had an impressive menu and drink list). Also has a very big Whole Foods branch. Maybe one can go there to catch a movie and spend the rest of the afternoon window shopping, dining, snacking and doing some groceries. I drove going there but from the website, it looks like it can be reached by MNR + one bus ride. Or better yet rent a zipcar - lots of parking.

Then you have the desert of Vegas which I been where it has been 120. I remember having sore throat it was so dry. Obviously..... different than nyc but the sun could melt my skin.

Other notable mention is Hawaii which I think the humidity is also worse than nyc...the sun seems stronger there. Southern Italy & Greece was almost a bad in the summer months I've been there.
