Becareful of the census data as the general census includes no financial info.

They do a seperate very limited survey using relatively few samples to compile their best guesses at everyone else.

It really a small sampling as it is only 125,000 samples country wide from what i see.

My own neighborhood has more variation than that.

Do you have a source for that?

THEY SHOW 150,000 INTERVIEWS for 2011.

by household in ny state they show 134,000, nyc is millions of people with all different financial status and amounts.

The ACS does financial surveys since the census we all get has no financial questions.

Judging by the chart, Queens would be the place in NYC for my partner and me. We're middle-aged whites from WASP backgrounds. We would be over the median household income with my (state-income-tax-free) pension and his job. If I got a job we'd be Queens big wigs (just kidding).

Looks like black folk make good money in Pike County, somerset, Orange, and they are even keel in Queens county. They do make up only a small portion of those counties though, but I wonder what their employment would be.

Queens has not been attractive to anyone but Asians and Hispanics (and recently some transplants to Astoria) for the better part of 20 years....and the ones leaving in greatest numbers were middle aged Wasps and white ethnics. You may want to rethink your choice! Archie Bunker has long been gone...

As for this link, it is probably somewhere in the ballpark but I would not qualify it as accurate for the reason that Mathjack already indicated. I would use the ACS survey instead.

It depends, throughout the last decade a lot of white people have been moving to Queens from Long Island for a more convenient lifestyle, lower taxes and shorter commute; so Queens has been desirable to whites for quite some time now again. Most whites have been settling in Northeast Queens nowadays; in the whole Bayside region. Plus, Northeast Queens has "good schools", so a lot of well-off whites don't mind raising their families there.

You should read the article to understand what is happening in Queens.

Queens leads the way as more Asians move to New York - 1 in 5 in the borough - NY Daily News

And here is another:

The demographics of Queens, and shifts in neighborhood populations | Brownstoner Queens

I will say that however whites are (and will be) moving to places close to the city, like Astoria and LIC, however that is not enough to make up for the continuing exodus of ethnic whites (and the few Wasps which remain).
