Has the Bronx become a dumping ground for the poor? Or due to people being priced out of their previous homes in Manhattan, and other places, are folk just simply relocating to simply survive? What say you? I'd say it has, which is why police seem to be inundated, over their heads, with crime and debauchery.
What a vague and naive statement to make. The Bronx is a huge. Thats like saying Brooklyn is only full of hipsters, which we all know is not true. I suggest you do some research on the bronx and the different neighborhoods to educate yourself. It's not the 1970's anymore and the whole borough is not poor.
Crime in the Bronx has been declining for years. Although it has the highest rate in NYC, it has significantly less violent crime then comparable urban areas outside NYC. There are rough pockets like any borough, but the Bronx has improved dramatically in that regard.
Also, it's not the poor flooding the Bronx but people with more moderate incomes. There has been significant reinvestment with much more to come.

HA! What is your definition of a "moderate income" for someone in the Bronx?
