I don't know why everyone on this board always tries to talk people into moving to Queens. Especially, Astoria.
The place is not that great..
Who's everyone? Most people on here don't even like Queens.
It's better than the Bronx, SI, and more convenient than most of Brooklyn. What's not not to like about Astoria? You just have to embrace the ugly architecture.
That's probably my main gripe with Astoria...it has zero architectural value...it's just a bunch of ugly, frame/siding boxes with no craftsmanship or historical value. I dunno why that is....but if that's the biggest problem, I would say the place is great!

I think you're confusing Queens with the Bronx, Sobroguy.
No he is not

I only use Queens for the Airports, its the only way I can leave the city. Also Queens has the best looking women, they give great fellatio.
Astoria just isn't for me. To me, it lacks excitement and energy.
I have friends who live there and they love it... Different strokes, I suppose.
I wouldn't call Astoria the liveliest neighborhood in the city, but its certainly not dead around Ditmars, Stienway, 30th and Broadway. But to each their own, I guess. Though, I hope you're not one of those who think stroller wonderland neighborhoods, like Park Slope, are lively and exciting.
True..politicians don't want you to go for their own selfish reasons, but if it makes you feel better, the majority by far of NYC residents want you to secede and agree...you do not belong and have nothing to do with NYC or anything in common with it for that matter (except for 40 years of our garbage of course).
Sounds good to me! I don't take any of that as an insult. I just wish the rest of the country didn't lump us in with the un-American ideas of city.
Bay ridge. Bensonhurst. Manhattan beach. Dyker heights. Sheepshead bay are pretty nice areas in Brooklyn. You must of went elsewhere in Brooklyn
