Don't think much of it. It's a crummy area. Not even a pleasant shopping experience. Times I've been around there I just want to leave as soon as possible.

I worked on Sutphin and 109 Ave back in 1990-1991.

It was purely residential where I was, nothing to do or see at lunch, we ordered in, or went to the corner supermarket.

but this may be further away than where you are looking at.

I used to go there everyday since I lived in South Jamaica for a while. Nothing ever happened to me even in South Jamaica which is supposed to be a bad area. However, I find living in areas where there are a lot of lower income people depressing, as elitist as this may sound. But it's not a race issue. I imagine I would be equally depressed living in Elmhurst or Corona.
