For anyone who despises Christine Quinn, can you please list a couple of your reasons?

She is Bloombergs hand picked ultra liberal cronie. A perfect example of Bloomberg setting up this election for her was handing over a balanced budget last month & Quinn grinning ear to ear taking credit for it. Christine Quinn is an extention of Bloomberg. We can't afford 4 more years of that.

lol @ "ultra liberal"

She and Bloomberg are equally in the pocket of the finance and real estate industries, with disastrous results.

There's also no daylight between her and Bloomberg on his utterly failed education policy.

So then the assumption you are implicitly making is that Bloomberg is "ultra-liberal," and thus that Quinn is too liberal? Have I got that right?
What would a CONSERVATIVE NY mayor look like?

Any more reasons why Quinn is a terrible choice? Other than she is too conservative and too liberal?

I am honestly trying to find the reasons why so many seem to despise her. I was stopped in the middle of Third Avenue by someone asking whom I support. I said "Who are YOU supporting" and he said "Anyone but Quinn."
I said "I OWE her," and I do, and he was crestfallen and then we both got out of the way of oncoming traffic.

Is it in fact because she is a out lesbian and people are too afraid to admit their true feelings?

I'm comfortable saying that has nothing to do with it for me.

The people who think she and Bloomberg are "ultra-liberal" are the same people who think Obama is "ultra-liberal," or socialist. They don't know or understand anything and can be ignored.

I can't stand Bloomberg. I also can't see any meaningful differences between Quinn's policy platform and Bloomberg. Can you? If so, what are they? She's probably going to be our next mayor so I'd like to feel better about it.

Edit to add just one example: Quinn's "affordable housing" policy is a subsidy scheme that was rejected by Bloomberg for being too friendly to the real estate industry. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/14/ny...berg.html?_r=0

SO then I guess I must ask, what is it about Bloomberg that people find so hateful, especially given the fact that he was elected 3 times?

I hope not the silly stuff like the 16 ounce soda limit, or the no smoking on beaches?

Really, I'm curious and I do not have an agenda.

For my taste he is too conservative, but then I can say that about almost all American politicians,
up to and including the president. But Bloomberg is certainly to the left of Koch and Giuliani and to the right of Dinkens.

he is outta touch and got his priorities fd up, meanwhile theres real problems like the failed 911 system, from which people couldn't be reached fast enough and died
not even counting how poor people live, erosion of middle class, bad roads and filth
thats wat happens when ur too rich, thats why u cant vote billionaires in, they dont give a ****

He's relentlessly pro-corporate in absolutely every aspect of his administration from housing to education to commercial development. His overarching vision is of a luxury city without a real middle class, and during his tenure we've gone a long way toward that becoming reality. His administration officially encourages unconstitutional police stops and frisks which often amount to racial profiling.

I'm not a fan of the nanny state stuff either, though it's less important. As much as anything, it's symbolic--fiddling while Rome burns.

I started hating him when he re-instated the tourist helicopters over the NY harbor, after Rudy Guiliani BANNED the for quality of life issues. Rudy cared about the residents of NY.

Bloomberg is only interested in money therefore reinstated the tourist helicopters that give the park goers of Govenors Island a loud droaning sound all day long. As well as the neighborhoods like Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, Columbia Street waterfront, Brooklyn Bridge Park at Atlantic ave.

the loud droaning sounds are horrible that I have not gone to Govenors island at all this summer.

plus the fact that with the second hand smoke (for the first 25 years of my life both me and my sister breathed in second hand smoke, as every parent smoked in the 60-80, so if Im not dead by that now, I never will) so that doesnt bother me, and now the soda thing..the stairs...

whats wrong with this man? enough already, plus the fact he had a third illegal term.
