They hate the Yankees most, and rightfully so. Giants too, since they somehow find ways to win Super Bowls. Really no reason for them to hate the Mets, Jets, or even Knicks, make fun of yes, but that's too easy. Don't know much yet about the Nets, they need to stop dropping that guy with the cape from the rafters.
You have a right to be upset. I've lived in several locations around the country and fondly recall (without exception) how relocated NY, NYers would abandon their NY sports provincialism and enthusiastically embrace whatever sports teams their new area had to offer.

Thats very unlikely. When the Giants played the Carolina Panthers in NC half of the stadium was wearing big blue colors due to the sheer amount of NYers who moved out of the city and Transplanted to the Carolinas. The same phenomenon can be seen when the Yankees travel down to Tampa to play the Rays. Same phenomenon is also in thr DC area plenty of New Yorkers live and work there, when a NYC team in plays in DC area the stadiums are full of New Yorkers. Plenty of Transplants that move to NYC dont really have professional sports teams in their towns except for a college sports team. Like I said If I was to move out of NYC id make sure that I can see my yankees knicks and giants travel down to is whip my adopted city culo.
I dont care where i happen to be living. Im a die hard Denver sports fan born and raised, and thats not changing. No real sports fan changes their allegiances that's pathetic. If we work together, and you cheer for a different team...your gonna catch some smack talk, and i would expect some thrown right back at me. Its all in good fun.

Just came back from a Broncos bar near chelsea and saw my Giants get beat. I was decked out with a Giants Jersey and Yankees cap so I can **** off the Transplants. It did not work and again another bad your for a typical NYC sports fan and his teams that he cheers for. What sucked is that I looked like a disgruntled NYer douchebag. Seriously Manhattan has become ground zero for Transplants. But hey good times.

Yankee and Football Giants fans predominately live outside of NYC. If you ask most NYers that live here, most of them are transplants that are still fans of their home towns.
As a douchey Patriots fan and Mass native myself, I certainly like to rip on my NY friends when their teams suck (ahem, Yankees Honestly, I do it for the fun of it all, just because I like to goof with people. I fully expect to get crap from NYers if the Yankees, Mets, Jets, Rangers, Giants or other teams beat mine. It's all in good fun. But don't for a minute think that it just comes come people who move to NYC. Working in Boston, I've had to endure plenty of out of town fans giving us locals crap, especially Yankee fans.
On a side note, as a Queens resident, if Queens gets the new New York FC, I might cheer for them. I never really got into the Revolution.

I remember when the Giants beat the Patriots during the super bowl two years ago. Man plenty of Mass fans walking around Manhattan felt a cold chill down their spine that night. I cheered and gave high fives to all of the locals. Cant forget the time when I went tova yankee game a couple of years ago. I remember a some yankee fans they were from Long Island, one of the fans made a threat Boston Red sox fan saying after the game Im going to stab you. Man these guys after the game were arrested and probably taken to central booking which is only a couple of blocks away.
