What are some other exotic cuisine that someone can find in New York?
Now, basically the same old stuff cooked different ways. Now back in the 80's there were restaurants that served legal game like Lion, Llama, Snake, Bear, etc. The last place I remember was in The Village.
I can confidently say general tso chicken do not exist in china today....if you find one, link me a menu there online. Its been about a decade since my trip to japan....it didn't exist back then. I can ask & confirm my Japanese buddies who reside there. They probably laugh at me for even asking.
Sure. SmartShanghai | Fortune Cookie - reviews, pictures, map - 4/F, 83 Changshu Lu, near Julu Lu is one place that has it. I know that there were and possibly still are a place or two in Changsha that sell it as a bit of a novelty (though really weird to the Hunan palate). As far as California rolls go, I've had it in Tokyo and ordered because I thought it was hilarious, but it's far from common though avocado as an ingredient has made significant inroads in the last few years. The funniest thing I had in Tokyo, and something I thought maybe came from the US first but probably not, was a nigiri sushi that had a tiny beef patty over rice with a strip of nori holding it down and small dollops of ketchup and mustard on top of it.

Henry's End has varied game crop up on the menu every once in a while--elk, turtle, kangaroo, etc.
While it's a boring answer, I would say that the most unique cuisine in NYC is the native cuisine. Everything from Albanian to Zimbabwean food can be found somewhere else, and may even be better in their native countries. Our food is our own. You won't find better New York-style pizza or New York-style bagels outside of New York. Same for cheesecake, hot dogs, reubens, etc.
my pet peeve is watered down versions of these ethnic foods. The worse is when they totally basterize the food....some people believe they are eating authentic food. California rolls do not exist in japan. General Tso chicken is no where to be found in asia. There is no deep dish pizza in italy
You may be correct about the others, but you can definitely get California Rolls in Japan: はま寿司
Scroll down to the bottom of the "rolls" (or "battleship", as they call it?) section. California Rolls are certainly not common, but they're not that rare, having been introduced to Japan from the US, of course.
According to the NY Times, it's the only Moldovan restaurant in all of NYC.
