Maybe the guy is going to sue the NYPD for not being out there to protect him from his criminal friends. Or maybe the guy will sue the biker who caused the initial accident. Or perhaps we could get really lucky and he will sue all the thugs that started bashing the SUV and slashing the tires forcing the driver to flee in the first place.
Just follow the money, he'll sue both the SUV driver and the city. Suing the driver would just be a sideshow to prove how the lack of surveillance by the NYPD led to the "poor" decision on the driver's part to flee from the scene and causing "innocent" bystanders to get hurt. But the real goal is the city since that's where the big money is for failing to protect him from the thugs/criminals he was with and reckless drivers that protect their families like Lien. Yes both he and his family and lawyers will label the people he was with that day THUGS and criminals that he had nothing to do with. At most they'll label the driver reckless or out of control due to the stress from feeling that his family was endangered since they have to make it believable.

Either way this guy is gonna get gov't money if he isn't on welfare already he'll be on welfare/disability and he just might get a multi-million dollar settlement from New York City. He has nothing to lose at this point. You can counter sue, but there's no point suing him since he probably only has enough money to pay for a few super sized big mac meals and not to mention any type of liability insurance whatsoever being the responsible fatherly figure that his family says he is. His most valuable asset was his poor man's sport bike that got crushed and maybe the nice knife that he may or may not have used to slash the SUV's tires. The guy is in a win/can't lose situation.

FYI -

Biker Attack on SUV was Inevitable, Uptown and Bronx Residents Say - Central Harlem - DNAinfo.com New York

Every weekend I see the dirt biker riders gassing up at Morningside and 124th.
They then blast through the streets in central Harlem, into the night.

Many of the comments above indicate that few bothered to read the earlier comments in the thread. Give it a try.

I am not at all surprised that the biker has a lawyer. It's all about race, you know, and we also know what a big "pay-out" that will yield.

just came back to Zoo York after a trip to the civilized world (aka Northen Europe) and came across this video.

wow, those hoods were terrorizing that guy and his family. I'm glad some of them are being criminally charged, and I truly regret that the driver wasn't on a tank or a least a Humvee so could've mowed a few more.

Again, this isn't about guns. The police ARE responsible for Public Safety. A swarm of bikers that are breaking traffic laws left and right should not and cannot be tolerated. But this incident goes way beyond breaking Traffic Laws - they were vandalizing the vehicle, assaulting the driver and his family and probably would have done much worse if the guy were in a car, rather than an SUV.

I don't blame the driver for gunning it and running over the bikers. There was no reason for those bikers to even be TOUCHING his vehicle, nevermind slashing its tires. This was an insane incident and the fact that it was videotaped AND published online (along with many other videos of similar nature) goes to show this isn't a one-off occurrence. Guns don't help a situation when people are using their vehicles as weapons.

Here are more videos from these guys. The guy who posted them, deleted them, but someone had already downloaded them before that.

Right. Now envision them doing that on a weekend afternoon, on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, and incorporating the sidewalk when they feel like it.

Let's put a spin on this case. Can you imagine these bikers were wearing confederate flags and patches? What if they were chasing a Latino or Black? Would the Manhattan DA Vance be so quick to drop the case? Would Eric Holder take a time out on voter id laws and intervene? Honestly, these bikers who are God's clowns on earth. Have seen over the years that the NYPD will not go after them so they become more brazen. It's like dealing with children. If you don't discipline them while they are young then become marauders or savages within society. It's funny watching the media in shock over this. This type of behavior is the norm in this declining country. Look at Oklahoma. 3 of God's clowns go out and shoot an Australian jogger because " I'm Bored". Look at the WW2 vet in Seattle. Short murdered by another one of God's clowns.

did the cops or DA ever explain how the guy who smashed the back window with his helmet was actually trying to help the driver and his family? that doesn't seem to make any sense.

Sorry, having trouble putting up the video player.

In the link above is a video of the same group of thugs attacking a Prius. It starts around the 1:05 mark.
