I've noticed that some of the McMansions being built in my Queens neighborhood have paved over part of the front lawn and the owner parks a car on it, horizontally in front of the house. I used to think that was OK since it is their property but I thought I read somewhere that is not legal. Anyone know?

The local zoning office would be the place to get info on impervious coverage and codes.

I agree with the other poster. Contact your local community board, Also keep an eye out for widening or an illegal curb cut. All of a sudden a one car driveway encompasses 3 cars or driveway that wasn't there is now there.
