College student who is not rich from what I could gather and your dropping $350 on a belt. lol damn. $350 is book or food money! He definitely should not have been arrested and store and NYPD(as usual) handled it terribly but these young kids gotta wake up with this materialism. GEt your priorities in check.

College student working part time to save to buy a $350 Ferragamo belt???
Somebody is pulling someone's weenie here.
I don't think the story is fake at all as people buy expensive crap they don't need in college all the time.
I spent $600 for an iphone 1 and $600 for a PS3 when I was in college.

There is a difference between rich kids in college throwing money at useless name brand faddish crap and someone working part time to EARN a $350 belt.
I simply don't believe the story.
Who will work 35 hours for a BELT? That's two or three weeks part time.

(Watch, the story will come out as a scam.)
I think the story is legit. I would love to get that 33% commission that attorney's get.

Just because you wouldn't do it doesn't mean someone else won't.
I did the same thing as a kid. I worked for weeks, just to afford this jacket that Michael Jackson had on in one of his videos.
Now that I look back on it, I can say it was kind of stupid. But back then? It was worth every hour I had to work.
When I was in college, I would spend hundreds of dollars on jackets, sneakers, iPod, laptop and stuff, but never spent more than $50 on a belt. I don't care who makes the belt, it's just a belt and hardly anyone can see it as I don't tuck in my t-shirt or shirt.

And I'll bet you weren't working to pay your tuition either.

I went to Baruch, tuition was covered by Grant.
