There are 4 non-emergency vehicles associated with the company that owe $747 in unpaid tickets. So instead of booting those particular vehicles they boot the ambulance instead. Knuckleheads.

It's actually something they just brought back. I am seeing them more and more. Check out this article from this summer, June 2013

The new boot is different than before. It's actually a "self boot" that you are supposed to remove yourself after you pay the fine over the phone, and then you return the boot to a specific location. I know someone this just happened to, and she had to remove the boot and return it to the specified location within 48 hours.
