I paid $2.75 for a regular slice on 41st and Broadway recently. The place I sometimes go in Queens has a 2-slice and one can of soda special for $4.50.

Was this a regular (plain cheese) slice you bought?

No more than $2.50 for a cheese slice. But you can still buy a slice for $1.

There's a place on the corner of 25th and 6th that charges $1 for a slice of plain cheese pizza. It's always packed.

I would say $2.50 for cheese and $3.50 if it's got any other bells and whistles. Soda should be $1.

There's 2 places by my job that sell dollar slices. Why would I go anywhere else for pizza for lunch??

Isn't the default price for a slice is 2.50$ or 2.75$ ?

$1 slices ruined the quality of pizza in this city ( IMO ). A friend who is a cook tells me the $1 slice places don't use real cheese. They use a cheese substitute.

Personally I like a good slice with quality toppings. They run me $5 now at my local pizzeria.

I was recently in Mexico at a NY Style Pizza joint and they served me a slice for $2 that was better than ANY NYC style slice that I've had lately.

Getting ripped off is just another day in the life here in NYC....pizza sandwiches food trucks etc. Everybody is in on it.
