Billy's Bakery on 9th avenue is less crowded and much better IMO--but decent cupcakes are everywhere right now. I go to Billy's for the cake and the banana pudding. yum.

I don't go out of my way for sweets. I never even order desserts in restaurants.

About my limit is the occasional ENTENMANN'S half price sales. (Carrot Cake is delicious.)

Buttercup Bake Shop (used to be on 72nd, now they're on 2nd Ave. in the 50s) has great cupcakes--I really like their lemon, it tastes as though it has actual lemon juice in the frosting which cuts through the sugariness. I haven't been there in a while though (just found out they'd moved). There's a Magnolia in the building where I work, and now I'm hungry for banana pudding!

Mmmm, carrot cake...

Love them. It's more so the cupcake frosting that I find so delicious.

The cupcakes are addictive but the price is mentally insane. I think it's pushing 4 bucks or something PER cupcake. Not buying at those prices, not even one

This reminds me of the "Kyoto-fu" muffins I saw at Whole Foods this past weekend. My gf wanted to try it but after I saw the price tag I told her, "oh hell no you put that **** down, I ain't got money for that!" It was about 4 or 5 dollars for ONE. I go to Costco and I can get 12 for 6 dollars and they're fresh out of the oven!

It's good. Nothing really to distinguish it from anything else like it except for maybe the lines, and to some degree, the price.

Magnolia's OK but I prefer Zaro's and Junior's personally.
