When I went and saw the apartments last weekend, I toured with a regular applicant (I have a Sandy preference). Not sure what his log number was though.

Please tell us your honest opinion about the units
He was in the next income bracket up because we looked at his units (the more expensive studio and then the 1 br) and then mine (lower priced studio).
The apartments are nice. Definitely small and will require creative thinking but completely doable. The closet meant for the washer and dryer (which you will have to purchase yourself) is tall and deep and could be filled with lots of storage.
Pros: Nice windows, central air, great kitchen and appliances. Was also able to see the gym, "special events room", and common outdoor balcony which will all be very nice when completed.
Cons: The building is some income controlled units and some market rate. The market rate units I *believe* have nicer finishes (granite countertops, wood flooring). The lower priced units have laminate countertops and laminate flooring. Not a terribly big deal but worth mentioning as the renderings they provided do paint a slightly different picture of the apartment.
As some of you mentioned, the concern for me is more over the neighborhood than the building. However, there is a great deal of development going around the building and area in general.
when i saw the apt i thought small to but i lived in a 2br w/garage apartment for 27 yrs so its tough to downsize but container store gave me lots of ideas and i just have to not hoard stuff LOL
i liekd the apartment and i will work with it im downsizing but that just me and im happy
