Yes! Thanks. I joined the garden by me, meeting nice people. We have been really happy. Honestly, we don't have any complaints.. I'm so glad we made this move. People warn us that the summer will be loud, right now some people play loud music on the weekends but it doesn't bother us.

Picked up some red and blue velvet cake this morning from mrs maxwells for a birthday party! That place is awesome.

Maxwells is one of the best in Brooklyn for cakes. Got the cake for my son's baby shower there.

I always stare at that place whenever driving by it on Atlantic ave. Next time I'll for sure pay them a visit.

I'm glad it's all going well. I believe I mentioned the various noise issues around the neighborhood when you were curious about the area before moving in. But hey, more expensive Bushwick has that same issue. Some blocks and corners are worst than others, depending on the household. Personally, loud music don't really bother me, but it also depends how high the volume is. If the music is loud and distorted then for sure it would annoy me.

From google earth you can see there is an added extension and a pretty long but not too wide yard in the back. The next house over with the porch, large side yard and original iron fence probably has a ton of original detail hiding under the vinyl siding.

Here's a beautiful barrel front brick row house right across the street from highland park, still has some original details like the entryway and skylight. Once the neighborhood takes off you'll have to pay triple the price for this one.

424 Jamaica Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11207 is For Sale - Zillow

Looks awesome but I wouldn't want to live directly on Jamaica Avenue.

Bit of a trade off especially in the summer when everyone is at the park but i'll take this section over jamaica east of Crescent any day. You also have the YMCA a block over, highland park/reservoir across the street, furthest from the projects you can get and walking distance to gentrifying bushwick. Thinking long term this would be one of the first areas to change from the spill over from bushwick, with a rental unit for added income this would be perfect for a small family.

Just for some perspective and a sign of the inevitable spill over, heres a listing right on the other side of the cemetery in Bushwick, same 11207 zipcode a brick row house goes for $1million + just because it's in bushwick:

25 Moffat Street, Brooklyn NY - Trulia

I started a thread on that same listing last week
Look for "Brooklyn is done"

I just wouldn't want to live on Jamaica Avenue because it's too busy. I was never a fan of living on main streets.

one week, I hope thats not a sign of things to come. Bed-stuy and Bushwick where everything is being snatched up by cash offer investors, less properties are owned by live-in landlords or a resident of the neighborhood and they won't know how much of the neighborhood fabric has been lost.
