The site to see if there are any open heat and hot water violations on apartment buildings or to check the status of your heat and hot water complaint has been down since at least summer. You can find the link on this page: HPD - Residential Tenants - Heat and Hot Water. When you click on it, it does not load. http://167.153.4.70/Hpdonline/Provide_address.aspx.
I've tried calling and written emails to find out what's going on with it but haven't gotten a response.
It's very frustrating to not know if they haven't responded to complaints. It's also helpful to know who else in your building is complaining since it could be one line all suffer from not enough heat or hot water.

Sounds like DHCR, ostensibly set up to prevent landlords' illegal rent gouging in rent controlled and stabilized buildings, but actually there to make sure no action is actually taken.
"Oh sorry, we have no records of that apartment's legal rent after 1926."
