I think you would be much happier in a roommate situation in a better neighborhood. I know it can be hard to reconcile yourself to living with a roommate, but taking a chance on a really bad neighborhood just isn't worth it, both from the safety standpoint and from your potential happiness standpoint.

If you're not familiar with bad neighborhoods in big cities, you may not understand what living in one entails.

I should point out that I am single and between grad school, a part-time job and the party life I don't plan to be home much apart sleeping and making myself dinner on weeknights to save a little scratch. Hell, I probably won't even remember coming home half the time lol!

There is no Laramie, WI.

Laramie is in Wyoming.

Come on, try harder next time.

Even more of a reason not to live in a bad neighborhood. If you're coming home drunk, you'd be an easy target. Also, if you have that much money for partying, you could probably take a little of that money and put it in your housing budget.

Anyway, I've made my opinion clear. I think living in that location is a bad idea. Good luck with your decision.

Is this a real post ? There is a lot of information on Brownsville, most of it honest and none of it good, and there have been many discussions here. Who would fail to research a place before moving there ? Does not make sense.

Friends of my youngest brother lived not quite there but near enough, most had been beaten and robbed at least once and one poor guy several times. My brother was himself attacked twice, as was his roommate, they lived in the "fancy" part of Bed Stuy but would frequent (non-fancy) areas nearby to visit friends.

For starters, there is this: Brownsville guide, moving to Brooklyn | StreetAdvisor

Why would you be "from" your last name?

That's stupid. I'm done with this thread. I've been had by a 13 year old, or an old bored misfit.
