My broker made it perfectly clear that the area had nothing to do with East New York, that it was a world away from East New York in terms of vibe. Younger, hipper, more affluent crowd in Spring Creek/Gateway.
I don't believe that area is regarded as Spring Creek. That's East New York proper if you ask me, and you will be located between Cypress Hills Housing and the Louis H Pink Houses. There was about 2-3 media-reported victims in that area recently to the demented teenaged 'knock-out' assaults. That's knee deep in ENY for sure.
Starett City, Spring Creek/Gateway = South of Flatlands Ave.
Clearly this is a troll. Cause no one could be this clueless and stupid.
For sure. And this guy wouldn't count towards the nonexistent Brownsville/ENY gentrification tally. Replacing stupid with stupid doesn't help the neighborhood.

First rule of real estate in NYC, don't believe a single word your broker tells you about an area. They are in business to close deals to make their money. They would tell you Hell is only hot three months out of the year if that is what it would take for you to sign on the dotted line.
It took me all of three seconds on Google to find your new "hood" and I've never been to the place or until now knew where it was located.
There is a reason why your new home is so *affordable*. One you are way out in the boondocks of New York City, and two you are surrounded by housing projects and some sketchy and suspect areas.
In a way it is like persons that have moved to certain parts of Harlem and or the Bronx. Yes, your block or street may be "new" and whatever, but conditions surrounding and in the general area are what they are.
