Okay, here's a ridiculous question. Why not a park? There's very little parkland in that section of Brooklyn. But I think I can answer my own question: not economically or financially feasible.

This city is the best in the world.

The more development we have, the better. It brings construction jobs, more housing, more revenue, more people, and reduces blight and decay, all of which make the city a better place to live.

Guess what: Bloombergification is moving further into Brooklyn. The area around Long Island City is next! Followed by the rest of Queens and The Grand Concourse in The Bronx.

We just need to find a way to get rid of the projects!

thats not all we need to get rid of

They've already gone nuts with developing parks up and down the entire East River waterfront. What if people end up not using these parks? It would only make the area more dangerous.

I'm backing out slowly. . . . .
Plenty of people like Barclays.

I think now they do/sort of deal with it and say stuff like "Well, it's not that bad". I've always loved the design. Even before construction.

I believe this project will have the same outcome. A lot of people will say how much they hate it, but when it gets built people will accept it and convert to loving it!

Market-rate condos.

If people can't live there, tough luck. Move to Jersey. I don't understand this idea that people deserve to live in NYC.
