I think it depends on the hours you work, your job security, commute, etc. The private sector tends to be quite competitive in many fields, requiring more hours (often unpaid). Before I started working for myself, I was working at a place that routinely expected people to work until 10pm - add the commute onto that - it was ridiculous. Now most families have both parents working to pay the bills, and it's definitely hectic.

how many out there think both are important? if I'm lucky enough I'd like to have a conversation with people who have experience about how to balance career and love, it seems really hard for many people to have both good. hope I can get to communicate with people, thank you so much, god bless.

I was told that it's good for couples to work opposite hours like one couple works a regular 9 to 5 and the other works a night shift. I know people who are in relationships and work opposite hours and it works out pretty well.
